Gauge Wheels allows you to set alarm limits related to the downforce applied to the row units. Find the proper adjustment by balancing the downforce and ground speed to obtain a quality seed furrow and consistent seed depth. Always verify the performance with a field check.
Downforce Margin— alarms (upper screen area) are managed using the High Margin, Target Downforce Margin, and Low Margin settings. See the Downforce Margin page for an additional description.
High Margin— allows you to define an alarm at a percentage over the target downforce margin. Readings that exceed this limit trigger the alarm.
Target Downforce Margin— allows you to set a value that results in a quality seed furrow and a smooth ride for the row unit.
Low Margin— allows you to define an alarm at a percentage under the target downforce margin. Readings that fall below this limit trigger the alarm.
Ride Dynamics— alarms (lower screen area) are managed using the Ground Contact Low and Ride Quality Low settings.
IMPORTANT: Ground contact and ride quality affect seed depth. Avoid inconsistent plant emergence. Maintain enough downforce margin or reduce your ground speed to obtain a smooth ride.
NOTE: A lower ride quality affects the MaxEmerge seed tube more than the ExactEmerge BrushBelt.
Ground Contact Low— is the percentage of good ground contact that you want the row units to remain above.
Ride Quality Low— is the percentage of good ride quality that you want the row units to remain above.
