Equipment Turn Settings

Use equipment turn settings to fine-tune turn aggressiveness by adjusting the radius and angle of the turn separately. Use these settings only after turn aggressiveness adjustments do not result in a desired turn path.

NOTE: These settings automatically adjust when a change of implement or working width is detected.

Minimum Turn Radius - Enter the minimum turn radius. A lower value results in a tighter turn, while a higher value results in a wider turn.

NOTE: On certain machines and implements, Minimum Turn Radius is automatically set by the machine or implement profile settings.

If the value is grayed out, select the jump button to open the Equipment Manager application and modify the value.

Maximum Turn Angle - Enter the maximum angle that the machine can pivot. A lower value results in wider turns, while a higher value results in a tighter turn.

NOTE: Measurements should consider all implements connected to the machine.

Speed Control

Turn Deceleration Threshold - Determines how aggressively the machine corrects a guidance error. A high value results in a more aggressive guidance correction.

Response Aggressiveness - Adjusts how quickly the machine transitions between field and turn speeds. Higher value results in faster, more aggressive speed changes. Lower value results in a slower speed change.

Turn Pattern - Figure 8 Turn Settings

Maximize Coverage on Turns - When enabled, iTEC sequences are based on coverage rather than turn sequences. The start point is where coverage begins and the end point is where coverage is projected to end.

ON / OFF

With maximize coverage off, triggers are placed to ensure that equipment is raised when the machine is making sharp turns.

With maximize coverage on, triggers are placed at intersections with existing coverage. This ensures that no gaps are created in the coverage.

Implement Raised

Implement Lowered

Section Control Optimization

Section Control is most accurate when the machine is traveling at a constant speed when entering or exiting a boundary or previous coverage area. AutoTrac Turn Automation takes into account implement mechanical delay when approaching a boundary or turn. The machine slows down before reaching the area where sections are commanded off and continues at a constant speed until after reaching the point where sections are commanded back on.

If the mechanical delays are not reported by the implement model, values default to zero. The operator can use the Deceleration Time and Acceleration Time entry boxes to manually configure this setting.

NOTE: Changes to this setting do not affect the mechanical delay times configured in the implement profile.

If manually configured, the values persist between system on/off cycles. If there is a change in equipment, the values revert to zero.

Deceleration Time - Select to manually enter the time needed to slow the machine from field speed.

Acceleration Time - Select to manually enter the time needed to maintain speed before accelerating back to field speed.

Equipment Turn Settings

Use equipment turn settings to fine-tune turn aggressiveness by adjusting the radius of the turn. Use this setting only after turn aggressiveness adjustments do not result in a desired turn path.

NOTE: This setting automatically adjusts when the working width is changed.

Minimum Turn Radius - Enter the minimum turn radius. A lower value results in a tighter turn, while a higher value results in a wider turn.

NOTE: On certain machines, Minimum Turn Radius is automatically set by the machine profile settings.

Turn Pattern - Spiral Turn Settings

Enter the number of passes that the machine will make while either spiraling in or spiraling out.

When multiple machines are working on the same land (spiral pattern), shared coverage can be used to prevent double coverage. If another machine is working on a pass or if a pass has more than 80% coverage, that pass is skipped and the machine moves to the next pass.

Spiral Out Land Size - Machine harvests in a counterclockwise pattern through the field. At the end of each pass, the machine makes a left-hand turn.

Spiral In Land Size - Machine harvests in a clockwise pattern through the field. At the end of each pass, the machine makes a right-hand turn.

Auger

Allow Turn with Auger Extended - When enabled, turn automation is able to function with the unload auger extended. However, turn automation is disabled if the unload auger is active.

ON / OFF

Follow the Headland - When enabled, the machine follows the curvature of the headland where curves are present. When disabled, the machine follows the shortest (straight) path across the headland and does not follow the curvature if present.

ON / OFF

Follow the Headland is ON by default. The toggle selection is maintained across key cycles.

NOTE: Follow the Headland is only available when using the Straight Track guidance mode.

Impassable Boundaries - When selected, the system notifies the operator when the planned path intersects with an impassable area in the field.

The warning is selected by default. If deselected, it will automatically re-enable when the operator gets out of the seat, cycles the key, or changes fields.
