Procedures | Implement Runoff

Implement Runoff allows you to enter parameters and view the results of the entire implement.

Items Accessible on Implement Runoff Page:

Target Population— is the seed population for the runoff.

Test Speed— is the simulated ground speed for the runoff.

Start— begins the implement runoff.

Stop— appears while the implement runoff is in progress.

Test in Progress— appears on the screen when the seed meters are rotating during the runoff.

Procedure to Modify:

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to the seed meter components. Do not operate the seed meters without a seed disk installed.

  1. Select an input box to change the runoff parameters: the target population and the test speed.

Input Box

  1. Verify that there is enough seed in the row unit hopper for the runoff and that the seed is coated with the recommended amount of seed meter lubricant.

  2. Raise the implement.

NOTE: Place a clean container under the row units to catch the seed (if desired).

  1. Activate the electric power generation system.

  2. Engage the vacuum and set it to the level that you want during the runoff.

CAUTION: To avoid injury from rotating components:

  1. Select Start to begin the runoff.

Start

  1. Select Stop at any time to end the procedure. The SeedStar Overview screen area appears and contains the tabs associated to the runoff: Population, Singulation, Spacing, RPM, and Torque. The screen behavior is the same as the Overview. Observe the bar graphs as the runoff progresses. Zoom to the details page for the runoff results.

Stop

NOTE: The simulated distance traveled and elapsed time appear on the screen during the runoff.

  1. Compare the results to your expectations. As needed, adjust the seed meter (hub height, double eliminator, agitator, tine adjustment, worn part replacement), adjust the vacuum level, or inspect and correct any mechanical problems. (See adjustment recommendations and basic maintenance procedures in the implement Operator's Manual.)

NOTE: Values outside of the limits that you set are highlighted in red. Values near your set limits are highlighted in amber.
