Frame Control | Transport (Easy Fold)

Frame Control | Transport (Easy Fold) allows the software to both select each fold or unfold function in the correct order and to coordinate the tractor selective control valves (SCVs). You engage a single SCV for frame height and Easy Fold progresses through the sequence automatically.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the frame responds as expected. Verify the hydraulic hose connections at the tractor. (See hydraulic connection recommendations in the implement Operator's Manual.)

IMPORTANT: Avoid machine damage. Adjust your height settings before using Easy Fold for the first time and each time the implement is used on a different tractor.

NOTE: Easy Fold is a John Deere application and only works with John Deere tractors. Implement Automation is required with folding implements that connect to the tractor rockshaft. Automation is not required with a drawbar hitch connection.

Easy Fold Height Settings— allows you to set the correct positions for the tractor hitch heights used during the fold and unfold procedure.

SCV Settings— allows you to assign the SCVs that control the frame functions, so Easy Fold can command the tractor functions properly.

Start Easy Fold— enables the Easy Fold feature. The system waits for you to activate the frame height SCV lever.

Procedure to Modify:

  1. Place all SCV levers in neutral.

  1. Two-Point Connected Implements: Select the Auto Resume on your tractor to enable hitch automation.

  1. Confirm the tractor and implement status shown on-screen and then select Start to begin the Easy Fold procedure.

CAUTION: Verify that everyone is clear of the implement. Serious injury or death can result from contact with electric lines. Use care when moving or operating this implement near electric lines.

Accept— select to acknowledge the CAUTION.

Cancel— select to stop frame movement at any time.

  1. Engage the frame height SCV lever. Use Extend to fold. Use Retract to unfold. Release the lever at any time to pause the procedure. Select Manual Fold at any time to manually control operations. Easy Fold returns to the initial page if restarted, but resumes at the current operation.

NOTE: Paused appears whenever the SCV is in neutral or if the SCV detent is activated. Easy Fold disengages if the SCV is detented. Return the SCV lever to neutral and then re-engage the SCV to continue Easy Fold.

Implements Attached to the Tractor Rockshaft:

Paused— appears if you manually adjust the tractor hitch while Easy Fold is active. The implement frame stops moving. After you manually adjust the hitch, press the Auto Resume to continue using Easy Fold.

Progress Indicator— appears when the SCV is engaged and the frame is moving.

Cancel— select to cancel the Easy Fold operation at any time.

Select at any time (when an SCV is not engaged) to adjust a setpoint of the tractor hitch height.

NOTE: Leave the frame control in Transport mode during transport. The Transport mode disables the individual row hydraulic downforce, reduces the downforce to a minimal setting, and avoids trouble codes during transport.
