StarFire Receiver Security PIN-Code (StarFire 6000, 7000, and 7500 Receivers)

Security PIN-Code allows only authorized users to access the StarFire Receiver using a 4-digit code. The two levels of Security PIN-Code access are administrator and operator. Administrator access allows the operator to enable or disable the Security PIN-Code feature, set and edit PINs, and unlock the receiver. Operator access allows the operator to unlock the receiver.

Ensure that the receiver is registered with a StellarSupport account. If an administrator is unable to unlock the receiver, a master unlock code can be generated on StellarSupport to restore access to the receiver.

NOTE: Exporting data is not available when the receiver is in a locked state or was given temporary access.

NOTE: Receiver software cannot be backdated when Security PIN-Code is enabled.

Reprogramming the receiver does not disable Security PIN-Code.

Access Security PIN-Code

NOTE: Depending on the model, machine receivers are identified as either GR6, GR7, MG1, or MG2. Implement receivers are identified as either IR6 or IR7.

The GR7 identification is used for these instructions.

To access the Security PIN-Code feature:

  1. Access Diagnostics Center.
  2. Select Controllers tab.
  3. Select GR7.001.
  4. Select Address 050.
  5. Change the address value to 1.

Security PIN-Code

The StarFire Security PIN-Code page contains two tabs:

Info tab - Info tab enables and disables Security PIN-Code and displays whether the receiver is locked or unlocked.

Setup tab - Setup tab is where to reset the PIN or change the PIN expiration interval.

NOTE: Only the administrator can access the Setup tab.

When Security PIN-Code is enabled, cycling the power prompts the operator to unlock the receiver.

1. Select the Unlock Receiver button.

Unlock Receiver

2. Select the user (Administrator or Operator) from the drop-down menu.

3. Enter the PIN.

4. Select Accept button.

NOTE: If the operator makes five invalid PIN attempts, the operator is given 72 hours of temporary access, during which the receiver operates normally. Every 2 hours, the operator receives an on-screen prompt to enter the administrator PIN. If the administrator PIN is not entered within 72 hours, receiver function is disabled.

Forgot PIN

If the administrator enters five invalid PIN attempts or has forgotten their PIN, a 24-digit master unlock code must be obtained from StellarSupport. The master unlock code is valid for eight days.

1. Select the Forgot Pin button.
