Frame Control | Transport (DB Planters)

Frame Control | Transport (DB Planters) describes the procedure to manually control the implement functions for folding and unfolding.

CAUTION: Only transport the implement on a roadway if all hoppers and tanks are empty. (See cleanout procedures in the implement Operator's Manual.)

Items Accessible on Frame Control | Transport Page:

Stop Movement Screen Area

IMPORTANT: Avoid unexpected frame movement. Do not place selective control valve (SCV) in detent. Select Stop at any time to halt frame movement.

Procedure to Modify:

CAUTION: Verify that everyone is clear of the machinery before folding. Serious injury or death can result from contact with electric lines. Use care when moving or operating this implement near electric lines.

Perform the Fold and Unfold procedures as follows.

FOLD:

  1. Prepare to fold in an area with firm, level ground that is away from obstructions.

  2. Raise the implement and maintain the SCV lever in the engaged position for a few seconds to rephase the lift hydraulics.

  1. Select the Transport mode.

Transport

  1. Enable the drawbar function. Select Drawbar and toggle the function ON.

Drawbar

  1. Engage the markers SCV until the hitch frame is level.

  2. Place the tractor transmission in neutral.

  1. Enable the tongue latch function. Select Tongue Latch and toggle the function ON.

Tongue Latch

  1. Engage the markers SCV until the latch status changes from Moving to Unlatched.

  1. Enable the fold function. Select Wing Fold and toggle the function ON.

Wing Fold

  1. Engage the markers SCV and fold the wings until the wing latches are near the implement hitch.

NOTE: If the wing wheels push soil, drive the tractor forward to coordinate the hitch movement.

  1. To avoid interference, observe and adjust the hitch position while completing the fold process. One latch can be partially engaged on the hitch to maintain alignment while the other latch aligns.

Frames with Fold Assist:

  • Enable the fold assist function. Select Fold Assist and toggle the function ON.

Fold Assist

  1. Enable the drawbar function. Select Drawbar and toggle the function ON.

Drawbar

  1. Engage the markers SCV and raise the hitch until it engages the wing latches.

  1. Install the transport collar. (For more information, see the implement Operator's Manual.)

  1. Enable the transport lift function. Select Transport Lift and toggle the function ON.

Transport Lift

  1. Engage the markers SCV and raise the frame to the transport height.

  2. Engage the frame height SCV until the wing wheels are retracted.

  1. Enable the drawbar function. Select Drawbar and toggle the function ON.

Drawbar

  1. Engage the SCV and raise the hitch until it is level.

  2. Install the service locks on the center-frame wheel cylinders and the drawbar cylinder. (For more information, see the implement Operator's Manual.)

UNFOLD:

  1. Prepare to unfold in an area with firm, level ground that is away from obstructions.

  1. Enable the drawbar function. Select Drawbar and toggle the function ON.
