Information and Settings | Speed

Speed allows you to select a speed source on the tractor. The speed value determines the seed motor behavior.

NOTE: The selections are disabled when the tractor is moving and the seed motors are engaged.

Auto— the recommended selection to allow the software to choose the best source available.

Auto

NOTE: The Auto mode automatically switches to another source if there is a radar malfunction and a loss of GPS signal. Select a specific source if you want a notification when your selected source malfunctions.

Ground Speed— uses the tractor radar or GPS as the source. GPS has priority.

Ground Speed

NOTE: This is the most accurate speed source, but is dependent upon the GPS signal strength and the radar accuracy.

Wheel Speed— uses the tractor wheel-speed sensor as the source.

Wheel Speed

NOTE: Wheel speed can be used if the GPS and radar are unavailable. If wheel slip occurs, it creates a difference between the speed value and your actual speed, which causes an error in seed population.

Manual Speed— uses a fixed speed value that you enter into the input box.

NOTE: The implement responds based on this value regardless of your actual speed. Use of the Manual Speed can cause large errors in seed population. Manual Speed is primarily used for diagnostics or to continue planting when all other speed sources fail.
