BUS indicates that information is transmitted in "messages" between controllers. Each message is created by a series of power on or power off signals.
The "ISOBUS" system is described in the ISO 11783 standard.
ISOBUS works on the basis of the implement CANBUS and extends it from the tractor to the implement. The display (VT) and GPS receiver communicate with the implement ECU(s) using both the tractor‘s Implement CANBUS and the implement’s ISOBUS.
For example, John Deere Section Control messages are sent from the display, through the implement CANBUS wiring, to the implement using the ISOBUS data protocol.
