Cold Boot

A cold boot occurs if the machine has been keyed off for more than 24 hours, after 20 warm boots, or when on-screen prompts require the display to reboot (such as changing languages or adding a secondary display).

Depending on the presence of a battery switch, one of two procedures are used to manually perform a cold boot.

Battery Switch Present

  1. Turn ignition off.

  2. Wait for display to power down.

  3. Switch battery switch off.

  4. Turn ignition key on.

  5. Wait 5 seconds.

  6. Turn ignition key off.

  7. Switch battery switch on.

  8. Start machine.

Battery Switch NOT Present

  1. Turn ignition off.

  2. Wait for display to power down.

  3. Disconnect battery.

  4. Turn ignition key on.

  5. Wait 5 seconds.

  6. Turn ignition key off.

  7. Reconnect battery.

  8. Start machine.
